I was that boy.
The man I am today is not one onlookers would have seen coming. Prior to middle school I had no friends that had stuck around. My presence didn't mean much to anyone. Doctors wanted to put me on medication. Nothing indicated I was going to be a high-functioning man one day.
My dad saw it coming — the criticisms, the disrespect, the bottom of the chain. He pushed me into football and wrestling. I started late. But through belief, coachability, and the right mentors, I became captain of almost every team I was on. I beat high school state champions who had been wrestling since they could walk.
Today I walk with a presence of respect that was earned. I am a successful salesman and the founder of multiple businesses. And when disciples of Jesus kept telling me to work with young men — I finally listened.
Contend Co. exists to help boys see the abundance God has left for us.
